Should I read Unbroken?

I have heard a lot about Unbroken in the past few months and sense track season is starting to kick off, I was wondering if this was a good book to read. I have not seen the movie so I know little about the story save that there is a young track prodigy who is captured in WW 2. With that summary it sounds like a terrific book.
I was wondering if there is a real focus on hs imprisonment or more on track and him going off to war. I was also wondering if the book is in third or first person as that changes the reading experience. Personally I like to read books in first person. If there is any other information you think that could help me decide whether to read this book or not please comment on this post.
