The theme in The Blind Side is that there are a lot of people who need help and not nearly enough people trying to help them out. It is created through the Touhey family adopting Michael Oher and realizing there are a lot of kids who need their help. It is redefined at the end when Mrs. Touhey wants to open a shelter for poor kids without parents that can take care of them. She says, " If we open a shelter for kids like Michael then maybe we can help solve the endless cycle of poverty." This shows that through adopting Michael they learned that they were given great things but now they must start to learn to give back.
My article is about how the book is inspiring and how the book takes a kid from the streets and puts him in the NFL. It is also about the main idea of the book and a brief summary.

Hayden this is a very good blog. You have a very good theme for this book. I have seen the movie and really think that your theme is the most accurate.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a great book Hayden. I too have read this book and found it truly inspiring. This really changed my point of view on how much we need to take out our own time to help others. This book showed me that anyone can go far in life with a little push in the right direction.
